Transaction fee formula
- Order amount = item price + shipping charged to buyer
- Transaction fee estimate = order amount x 6.5%
- Total fee stack = transaction fee + listing fee + payment processing + optional ad fees
Why shipping matters
Buyer-paid shipping is still part of the fee calculation. If you charge $5 shipping, the transaction fee estimate is calculated on the item price plus that shipping amount, not on the item price alone.
What this page does not include by itself
A transaction fee estimate is not the same as profit. To estimate profit, include Etsy Payments processing, listing renewal behavior, POD production cost, fulfillment shipping, discounts, and ad spend.
